Responce to Douglas Bowman’s Blog
October 5, 2007
I have done all the necessary things to come up and plan out a design I come up with. With the help of my instructors in AID (Art Institute of Dallas), they have show me the steps to be able to work and create a well thought out and creative design. Douglas’s steps to come up with a design is similar to what my instructors do to come up with there own concept and design. With that in mind I know that I came to the correct school and have the confidence to know that my work is well thought out and well design.

That is so true. I believe you get a much better end product if you have a plan and method, instead of just pulling something out of a hat.

I agree with you that we get a much better design when we work through a process to get it. Douglas did a good job describing his process, and it is very close to so many that i have heard. We should all find a process that we can use to get our designs.

Hey, I’m back for my second-go-round (I graduated in ‘99-’00 in Computer Animation) at AiD, so I Totally agree with you!
Our teachers seem to be relatively consistent in what they teach while keeping up with industry standards. It keeps me pretty confident that I am getting a great education when I can read an article by an industry leader that backs up all the things that I have learned thus far.
I think Douglas did a good job at making the design process sweet and simple.
