“Picasso hardly meant that great artists steal popular designs whose original source is known to everyone,” says Wes George, writer for The Mac Observer and financial Mac nut.
I as a student that is majoring in Graphic Design, also “copy and paste. And other times I have it save in my hard drive from my past projects, so that makes it easier for me to work with if I were to built a web page from scratch. Everything he talks about in his blog is something that I’ve done or considering of doing but then again I think that as an artist, sometimes we need inspiration to get started. The way we do it is to “copy” but not all the time because then we’ll face some very harsh consequence.
Process of designing my comps
November 1, 2007
1. think of things that comes up to your mind and write it down.
2. categorize the words in its own subject or idea thats matches to each other.
3. once I’ve done that, I draw out the layout, where I want to put…like my content or branding or the main nav.
4. draw as many thumbnails as I can.
5. then I choose the best three and incorporate my ideas that I came up with from the beginning into to the best three.
6. sometimes if I have trouble coming up with a design I turn to other designers to get fresh ideas or ask some opinions from my peers.
